SBW Events began as a family-run business, and that's still how we see every celebration we take on: as someone's family day, not a template to be repeated. Over the years we've planned celebrations for couples and families of many backgrounds, faiths and traditions across Scotland — and the through-line is always the same. People want their day to feel like theirs.

Every tradition is welcome here

Some couples want a celebration steeped in long-held customs. Others are bringing two different cultures together and want both to be represented with equal care. And plenty of families simply want a beautiful, well-run day with no particular tradition attached at all. All of these are exactly what we're here for.

Whatever shape your celebration takes, the planning fundamentals hold true: a clear running order, suppliers who understand the brief, décor that suits the space, and food that's served well and on time. Traditions add meaning on top of that foundation — they don't replace the need to get the basics right.

Bringing two cultures together

Multicultural celebrations are some of our favourites to plan. They take a little more thought — two sets of customs, sometimes two languages, occasionally two ceremonies across more than one day — but the result is genuinely special. The key is early, honest conversations about what matters most to each side, so nothing important gets lost and the day flows as one celebration rather than two stitched together.

A good planner becomes a quiet translator between families, suppliers and venues, making sure everyone understands not just what is happening but why it matters. That care is the difference between a day that merely includes traditions and one that truly honours them.

Heritage and experience

The name behind our business — Shadi Biyah Wale — reflects our South Asian roots, and we're proud of the experience that brings to celebrations with cultural detail, larger guest lists and multi-event weekends. But that expertise is part of a much broader picture. We plan weddings, receptions, engagements, anniversaries and private parties for people from all walks of life, and we'd be just as at home with an intimate countryside ceremony as with a grand reception for hundreds.

The best celebrations aren't about following a script — they're about telling the truth of who you are, beautifully.

If you're imagining a day that reflects your own story — whatever your culture, faith or style — we'd love to hear about it. Take a look at our event planning and co-ordination service, or simply get in touch for a friendly, no-obligation chat.
